Idmonarchne
Brasieri,
giant prehistoric spiders roused from millennia-long slumber by

BLOG TOUR: Lightbringers by David Price SPOTLIGHT

Lightbringers:
The Age of Myths and Legends
by
David Price

Genre:
Fantasy

What if all the gods of the earth once existed? Long ago a superior race once came to earth and became humanity’s gods. The story is set on a post cataclysmic earth. Technology has vanished and been replaced by magick. Myths and monsters once again roam the land.

Blending H. P. Lovecraft’s mythos, with the numerous mythologies of the earth created a rich mythic landscape. Two groups of gods once descended on the earth, Lovecraft’s horrific alien, inhuman beings and the superior, god-like race, known as the Watchers, (the Elder Gods described by August Derleth).

Lightbringers is a Grimdark Fantasy set on a dying earth, twenty thousand years from now. The stars are right and the Great Old One asleep at the bottom of the world finally stirs in his terrible slumber. One reluctant hero, a half-breed child of the Elder gods, and his companions set out on a globe-spanning quest, populated by creatures of myth and beings of legend, to save the Earth from the evil that threatens to destroy it.

David Price’s LIGHTBRINGERS mingles a broad spread of myth and genre

BLOG TOUR: A Meddle of Wizards by Alexandra Rushe SPOTLIGHT

A MEDDLE OF WIZARDS
by
Alexandra Rushe
Genre: Fantasy
Pub
Date: 1/9/2018

Welcome to Tandara, where gods are
fickle, nightmares are real, and trolls make excellent bakers . . .

Raine Stewart is convinced she’ll die
young and alone in Alabama, the victim of a chronic, mysterious
illness. Until a man in a shabby cloak steps out of her mirror and
demands her help to defeat a bloodthirsty wizard.
Raine shrugs it off as a
hallucination—just one more insult from her failing body—and
orders her intruder to take a hike. But the handsome figment of her
imagination won’t take no for an answer, and kidnaps her anyway,
launching her into a world of utmost danger—and urgent purpose.
Ruled by unpredictable gods and
unstable nations, Tandara is a land of shapeshifters and
weather-workers, queens and legends. Ravenous monsters and greedy
bounty hunters patrol unforgiving mountains. Riverboats pulled by
sea-cattle trade down broad waterways. And creatures of nightmare
stalk Raine herself, vicious in the pursuit of her blood.
But Raine isn’t helpless or alone.
She’s part of a band as resourceful as it is odd: a mage-shy
warrior, a tattered wizard, a tenderhearted giant, and a prickly
troll sorceress. Her new friends swear she has powers of her own. If
she can stay under their protection, she might just live long enough
to find out . . .

Alexandra Rushe was born in
South Alabama, and grew up climbing trees, searching for sprites and
fairies in the nearby woods, and dreaming of other worlds. The
daughter of an English teacher and a small-town judge, Rushe
developed a love of reading early on, and haunted the school and
local libraries, devouring fairy tales, myths, and tales of
adventure. In the seventh grade, she stumbled across a worn copy of
The Hobbit, and was forever changed. She loves fantasy and
paranormal, but only between the pages of a book—the flying monkeys
in The Wizard of Oz give her the creeps, and she eschews
horror movies. A psychic friend once proclaimed the linen closet in
Rushe’s bedroom a portal to another dimension, and she hasn’t
slept well since. Rushe is a world-class chicken.

Only Bette disappears before he can sink his teeth into her tender flesh, leaving Rollin with one mission: to find her—and to claim her. . . .
Bette seduces Rollin intent on conceiving his child, believing the mother-child bond to be the only kind of love she can sustain—the only kind of love that can keep her alive. But she never expects to feel so much for her strong and silent lover. Then she discovers
Rollin is none other than the heir to the Balinese throne—a man too noble—too dear—to play a role in her dark scheme. A man she would willingly die for, if only he would set her free. . . .

Beneath the Night
The Cities Below Book 3

Sometimes
survival means surrendering everything . . .

Lord Navarre Casteel wakes from a long sleep to find the vampire city he
rules forever changed and his future in the hands of a mysterious
beauty who offers her life for his. Fiery-haired Cat survives his
feeding, fueling Navarre’s body and mind—as well as his suspicion
that she is one of the Forbidden—a lethal mix of vampire and human
blood. Yet that doesn’t stop the throb of Navarre’s desire, the
feeling that she is destined to be his mate, to hell with consequences. . . .

A solitary fighter sworn to protect the children in her charge, Cat
never expects to feel so much for Navarre in the face of his savage
feeding. Which is why his offer of protection is nearly her undoing.
For how can she let down her guard when she has always walked alone?
But Cat has never faced an enemy like the one she faces now, never
felt such a powerful need to surrender to the force of love . .

Bound
The
Cities Below Book 2

The
streets are a battleground for humans, vampires, and demons
alike—where survival is a skill, love is a weapon, and the most
dangerous act is to care for another . . .

Keir is an assassin devoted to Lady Arianne, the last of her royal
bloodline. He is sworn to protect her, and that means eliminating any
threat to her life. But while on a mission, he is set upon by a pack
of demons, barely escaping with his life.

Cleopatra lives by a set of rules so rigid she no longer knows her true self.
But her kind and loving nature resurfaces when she finds a man,
bloodied and dying. Moved to help him, she risks her future and her
life to save a stranger far below her aristocratic station.

Their attraction to each other is as powerful as it is forbidden. But even
as their love grows, Keir keeps his true identity a secret—and this
lie is not the only threat to their love . . . or their lives.

In
the Dark
The
Cities Below Book 1

Demons have returned, a vengeful enemy waiting to strike. Soren and Faith
must find a way to survive the evil and darkness.

Faith's spur of the moment vacation, meant to free her and boost her spirits,
has left her lost on the streets of Paris. And apparently, Paris is
populated with something more than just humans. Vampires, suave,
seductive and oh so sexy, and one such warrior vampire has set his
sights on her.

When Soren hears Faith's terrified
screams, he rushes in and saves her life without considering the
consequences. Two problems: one, she's a human and clearly aware of
his vampire qualities, and two, the men who attacked her were not men
at all, but demons. Their target, his beloved underground city of
Balinese. He can never let Faith go home again, but can she learn to
love his people. . .love him?

Jen Colly is  the rare case of an author who rebelled against reading assignments
throughout her school years. Now she prefers reading books in a
series, which has led her to writing her first paranormal romance
series: The Cities Below. She will write about anything that catches
her fancy, though truth be told, her weaknesses are pirates and
vampires. She lives in Ohio with her supportive husband, two kids,
one big fluffy dog, and four rescued cats.

BLOG TOUR: Rhuna – Keeper of Wisdom by Barbara Underwood SPOTLIGHT

Rhuna
– Keeper of Wisdom
A
Quest For Ancient Wisdom Book 1
by
Barbara Underwood

Genre:
YA Urban Fantasy, Paranormal

In
the ancient, mystical past when an idyllic Atlantis-like civilization
flourished, its people with exceptional powers could build giant
stone structures like the Pyramids, and transform elements such as
sand to stone and metal to gold with concentrated energy of the
mind.

This
utopian Atlan Empire is rocked when one of its most preeminent
Masters rebels and seeks to subvert the ideals of Atlan society.
Roaming the countryside in a black robe, misusing his powers on
innocent people, he becomes known as the dreaded Dark Master.
On
a distant and isolated island on the fringes of the Atlan Empire, a
young girl named Rhuna comes of age when she meets a man from Atlán
and learns that her father was an Atlan Master who was killed in his
attempt to destroy the Dark Master.
Journeying
across oceans and ancient worlds, Rhuna learns to master her inherent
mental powers, transforming elements and summoning visions by means
of the Gazing of the Waters. Unlike her peers, however, Rhuna
discovers she has an extra power, namely the ability to summon
visions mentally, without incantations or powders.
When
the Dark Master’s activities become a threat to the peaceful Atlan
Empire, the Atlan Masters come to realize that they cannot defeat him
without Rhuna’s special visionary powers to observe the Dark
Master’s activity and whereabouts.
The
first book in this extraordinary Urban Fantasy series lays the
foundations of the Atlan Empire and Rhuna’s world, and even when
the Dark Master appears to have been defeated, secret and sinister
powers continue to threaten the ancient Utopia.

Rhuna-
Crossroads
A
Quest For Ancient Wisdom Book 2

This
exciting second book in the Rhuna YA Urban Fantasy Series can also be
read as a standalone novel.

Some
years have passed since Rhuna helped to defeat the Dark Master in her
new home of Atlán, and now Rhuna has a teenage daughter who
accompanies her on an assignment in Ancient Egypt to investigate some
disturbing reports.

She
soon discovers an astonishing underground network of the Dark
Master's followers, along with the secret group of Atlans dedicated
to stopping them. In the process of trying to carry out her
assignment, Rhuna is confronted with enormous challenges that could
drastically change her entire life and everything she has ever
believed in!

Rhuna
– The Star Child
A
Quest For Ancient Wisdom Book 3

This
thrilling sequel to Rhuna: Crossroads is set in mystical Ancient
Egypt where Black Magic was developed by the followers of the
legendary villain, The Dark Master. As strange and frightening curses
plague the population, Rhuna discovers the underground organization
that performs this uncanny new magic, but she can only combat it with
the help of her long-lost father. Having learned from her father
amazing new skills to empower her on the Astral Plane, Rhuna once
again strives to preserve peace and harmony in the idyllic Atlan
civilization.

Far
more challenging than fighting powerful Dark Forces, however, is
Rhuna’s personal anguish when her daughter becomes involved with
the leader of the Black Magic movement, and the once-perfect Atlan
society based on utopian principles begins to crumble all around her.
Shocking events escalate Rhuna’s world to a breathless climax as
she and her family undergo a momentous upheaval, and she is forced to
make great personal sacrifices for her loved ones.

Rhuna
– New Horizons
A
Quest For Ancient Wisdom Book 4

The
fourth book in the series, Rhuna: New Horizons can also be read as a
standalone novel.

After
sacrificing a life of comfort and security for her daughter’s sake,
Rhuna and her family go into exile and start a new life in the former
Atlan colony of Varappa. This faraway land is a frontier of new
technology such as air travel, loops in time and a society apparently
flourishing without a governing body of any kind.

On
the surface, everyone appears to thrive in this liberated society,
but this kind of free thinking is fertile ground for the Dark Master
and his followers. Just when Rhuna and her family settle into their
beautiful new lakeside home, strange things begin to happen. Powerful
conjurers cause upheaval with their sinister magic, driving people
from their homes.

An
isolated society claiming to adhere to the ways of the First Atlans,
appear to be fighting a losing battle against these followers of the
Dark Master. While attempting to find a diplomatic solution to the
escalating conflict, Rhuna faces great challenges in her personal
life. Aradin’s love for her has cooled off inexplicably, and
Lozira’s emotional wellbeing teeters on a precarious threshold. In
desperation, Rhuna combines her magical powers and Varappan
technology to do the unthinkable. What she does, however, is
forbidden, and brings about a rift between her and her own father.
Rhuna may have headed down a path from which there is no turning
back…

Barbara
Underwood was born and raised in Sydney, Australia; the only child of
German migrants who provided a rich and diverse childhood
environment. Already in third grade she wrote a short children's book
for a class project and realized that she was deeply satisfied with
creating stories. In sixth grade, for another class project, her
teacher was so impressed by the lengthy story she submitted, that he
commented at the end "I see we are going to have another
author".

Over
the years Barbara kept writing one thing or another, but only as a
hobby while she pursued other interests and goals. In the 1990s, she
completed a correspondence course in professional writing, doing it
in her spare time after work. This led to having a few short stories
published, but what she really wanted to do was write a proper
novel.

At
this time, Barbara had travelled extensively and gained a wealth of
knowledge and experience in subjects that held special appeal for
her, namely ancient history, myths and legends (such as Atlantis, the
builders of megaliths around the world), folklore (the belief that a
god-like race gave mankind its technology), human psychology and the
culture of other countries. What better subject for her first novel
than to combine all these elements into one big adventure!
