The first clue that I said those words out loud – the dumbstruck expressions on everyone's faces.

Oops! Oh well, who cares? They shouldn't push that button unless it's a real priority.

One older guy points a finger at me. His lips move in what has to be a rant, but I can't hear a word.

Did I go deaf?

Then I realize my earbuds, and the loud music, have blocked whatever he's saying. I pop one out.

"– don't have the right. Just because you have that –" He sneers at my jumpsuit. "–beginners security uniform on, you don't have the right to talk to us like that!"

I stuff the earbud back in and stare at the ceiling. That doesn't help the sensation of very angry stares piercing my body.

Sure wish I hadn't promised to follow all those stupid rules without exception. I could get away from these people.

Stuck until they all get off, I get into the music. Jenna Rock … well, her music rocks. There's no other description. No one else does space grunge/rap like she does, and her voice is so sweet.

Great beat. Fab voice. She's not bad to look either.

The last statement I'll never say out loud. My older bro, Wade, would probably twist my body into shapes it was never meant to be.

Can I help it if his girl looks so hot? An image of Cassie brings a shudder. Of course, Jenna is nowhere as hot as Cassie.

I really, really hope Cassie never figures out hot I think Jenna Rock is. That will cause major pain to my body, and I'll be back to where I was a while back, with my girl hating me.

 KC Sprayberry started writing young, first as a diarist, and later through an interest in English and creative writing. Her first experience with publication came when she placed third in The Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge contest while in the Air Force, but her dedication to writing came after she had her youngest child, now in his senior year of high school.
